'Creekside' is a Diploid

Rhododendron 'Creekside', which is a natural hybrid of Rhododendron arborescens, has been determined to be a diploid using flow cytometry by

Rhododendron 'Creekside' may, also, contain Rhododendron viscosum. Rhododendron 'Creekside' is sometimes called "Running Arborescens".
