'Horizon Monarch' X ('Lem's Monarch' X 'Very Berry')

One seedling of Rhododendron 'Horizon Monarch' X ('Lem's Monarch' X 'Very Berry'), which was raised by Marc Colombel, has been determined to be a tetraploid using flow cytometry by

Faculty of Science and Technology,
University of Coimbra, Portugal.

In the case of the tetraploid seedling of 'Horizon Monarch' (4X) X ('Lem's Monarch' (4X) X 'Very Berry' (4X)), a tetraploid was produced having 3 triploid and 7 tetraploid ancestors.
