"In the mail the day before was a catalog from a nursery in Jackson, N.J., that specializes in rhododendrons. Its beautiful photos made me want to open my checkbook or get out my credit card and buy some of these woody or semi-woody shrubs. I found myself getting progressively closer to the pictures as if to smell them, which of course was only mental. Even if they were real, most rhododendrons and azaleas, which are also rhododendrons, don't have a strong fragrance. "
