Tomorrow (Sunday) at 1:30 PM we will hold our January chapter meeting.
Location: Elm Bank in the East Wing of the Educational Building. This building is between our Display Garden and the large Hunnewell building.
Program
Sally Perkins, our Region 6 (Northeast) District Representative will be presenting.
Sally and her husband John have been active members of the Mass Chapter of the ARS since 1989. The desire to populate their own garden in southern New Hampshire with native plants led them to native azaleas. A recent expression of this interest was a trip in 2007 to the highlands of the Roan Mountain Region, famous for such natives as R. calendulaceum (the Flame Azalea) and R. cumberlandense. The Perkins are expert photographers, providing many of the photos used on the ARS webpage, which they designed and maintain as webmasters, so their record of the trip will be filled with the beautiful yellows and oranges of these native species. Anyone interested in our native plants will find this program inspiring as well as educational. Venture out to Elm Bank to see a preview of spring!
