The American Rhododendron Society Research Foundation has provided Sally Perkins, John Perkins, and Dr. João Loureiro a 2 year research grant to investigate the ploidy of hybrid and species Rhododendrons. This research will include testing of the ploidy level of seeds provided by the American Rhododendron Society, Vireya Society, and Azalea Society of America seed exchanges.
The flow cytometyry is being performed by Dr. João Loureiro, Dr. Silvia Castro, and Mariana Castro
