Van Veen & RareFind Plant Sale Reminder

 

The order pickup date is next Saturday, April 24 from 12 noon to 1:30 PM. 

 

Extra Plants on Sale during Distribution

Hundreds of extra plants will be available for sale during the distribution.  They include both Van Veen plants and the larger RareFind Nursery plants.  Everyone is welcome to stop by to purchase these extras, whether or not you have a Van Veen order to pick up.  We will have available species, foliage plants and choice hybrids from both Van Veen and RareFind.

Perhaps half of the extra RareFind plants are budded up and many will either be in bloom, or about to open for next weekend.  They are in my yard now and look "fabulous".

 

Volunteers

Volunteers for the sort and order filling should come to the Hunnewell Barn at 9:00 AM.  Wear warm clothes and bring a pair of light cotton gloves if you have them.

 

Directions to Van Veen Distribution at Hunnewell Barn

Address:  855 Washington St. (Rt. 16), Wellesley, MA

Use MapQuest or your GPS if you have one.  Otherwise, directions follow:

 

From the North via Rt. 128:  Take the Rt. 16 exit in Newton.  Follow Rt. 16 through Wellesley Hills and Wellesley Center. Look for the entrance to Wellesley College on your right (traffic light), the driveway to the Willard's barn is on your right and is approximately 0.7 miles beyond the College entrance.  The address is 855 Washington St. (Rt. 16), Wellesley, MA.  Once in the driveway follow the ARS signs to the barn.

 

From the South via Rt. 128:  Take the Rt. 135 exit in Needham.  Follow Rt. 135 to Wellesley Center.  Head south on Rt. 16 in Wellesley Center and follow directions above.

 

From the West:  Take Mass Pike to Rt. 128.  Go south on Rt. 128 to first exit, which is Rt. 16.  Follow the directions above.
