Weston Nursery Plant Order Pickup Reminder & Directions

Reminder:  Pickup for the Weston Nurseries plant orders will be at my house on Saturday, June 13 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Please refrain from arriving prior to 1:00 as I and a few other volunteers will either be busy putting up the orders, or eating lunch.

I will have a small number of extra, unreserved plants available, but not of all varieties in the list I sent out, as some sold out.

Also, I will have on hand some special plants from Weston Nurseries that weren't listed in my original email.  These are unique, unnamed hybrids that Wayne Mezitt received in a cutting exchange with a German hybridizer a number of years ago.  Though they are mostly out of bloom now, Wayne reports that they have "interesting colors – reds, pinks, yellows, scarlets, etc".  Most have interesting foliage.  They are grafted onto Chionoides.  Hardiness rating probably averages Zone 6.

These are much larger plants than the named Weston hybrids, some being 3 feet high, all are in 2 gallon pots.  They will be sold for a very reasonable cost, considering their size - $15 – $25 each.  No pre-orders on these, as they are mostly unique and must be seen.

With these, as for the smaller Weston hybrids, all proceeds go to benefit the Mass Chapter ARS.

My Address

61 South Mill St.

Hopkinton, MA  01748

Directions:

If you are east of Hopkinton, you may want to use MapQuest or similar to get directions.  Below are fallback directions to my house.

1)      Get to Rt 495.

2)      Take Exit 21A off of 495.  This exit is south of the Mass Pike exit onto 495.

3)      Merge onto West Main Street toward Hopkinton.

4)      Follow this road until you reach a set of lights at the intersection of MA-85.

5)      Turn right onto MA-85 South. Continue to follow MA-85.

6)      Approximately one mile after turning onto MA-85, you'll approach a blinking yellow light.

7)      At this light turn left onto Chestnut St (Chestnut Street becomes Ash Street - stay to the right to proceed to South Mill Street).

8)      Approximately 1.4 miles after turning onto Chestnut Street, turn right onto South Mill Street.

9)      61 South Mill Street is the third house on the left, black mailbox with 61 on it, plenty of rhodos in the landscape.

Parking is available in the driveway as well as on the road.  30 people have placed orders (for almost 1,000 plants), so if the driveway looks too busy, I suggest parking on my side of the road.

If you have any trouble locating us, call me at 508.435.8217 or 774.278.8628.

See you in a week!
